Which Macs are supported?
Notchly supports macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Macs with a notch (MacBook Pro 14/16 2021+, MacBook Air 2022+). It also works on Macs without a notch and external displays via a floating island mode.
What's included for free?
The free tier includes music controls (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music), file shelf, calendar, focus timer (25-min Pomodoro), clipboard history (5 items), bookmarks (5), camera overlay, HUD replacement, agent monitoring (Claude Code & Codex), screenshot capture, 2 widgets, and multi-display support. No account required.
What does Pro unlock?
Pro ($15 one-time) unlocks all 12 modules: 60-item clipboard with OCR, session manager, teleprompter, screen recording, command shortcuts, quick todo & notes, unlimited widgets, custom focus timer presets (15-70 min), region/window screenshots, and meeting controls (Zoom & Google Meet).
Do I need an account to use Notchly?
No. Free and Pro features work without account creation. A license key is only required to activate Pro, and it's stored in your macOS Keychain.
How many devices can I activate with one license?
A single Pro license can be activated on up to 2 personal Mac devices. You can deactivate on one Mac and re-activate on a new one.
Is Notchly a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time purchase of $15 with lifetime updates included. No recurring fees, no account required.
Does Notchly collect my data?
No. Everything stays on your Mac — clipboard content, calendar events, timers, and files are never sent to any server. There is no analytics, no cloud sync, and no telemetry.
Does it work with Spotify and other music players?
Yes. Music controls work with Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and any app that uses macOS system playback. Album art and playback progress show in the notch.
What is agent monitoring?
Notchly can monitor Claude Code and Codex sessions running on your Mac, showing token usage, session status, and context window usage — all locally, no API keys required.
Can I use my own AI API keys?
Yes. Notchly supports BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) for OpenAI, Anthropic, and Ollama. Keys are stored securely in your macOS Keychain.
